A lot of software for Windows come in 32-bit or 64-bit variants.
You need to know if your Windows operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit in order to download the appropriate version.
Windows 11
- Click on Windows Button > Settings > System Tab > Scroll down and click About.
- The System type field will tell you if you have a 32-bit operating system or a 64-bit operating system.
Windows 10
- Click the Start button, then choose Settings
- Select System.
- Choose About. Check the bit version on the System type field.
Windows 7
- Click the Start menu.
- Type system in the Search Programs and Files field, and then click System in the Programs.
Note:Do not press ENTER after typing system. Wait until the search has generated its list. - The operating system appears as follows:
- For a 64-bit version operating system: “64-bit Operating System” appears as the System type under System.
- For a 32-bit version operating system: “32-bit Operating System” appears as the System type under System.
